Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: 19/8/2026
Welcome to [Igbo Learning Centre Name] (“we,” “us,” “our,” or the “Centre”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, online learning services, classes, lessons, and related services.
1. Late Arrival
Students and teachers are expected to arrive on time.
If a student arrives late, the lesson will normally end at the originally scheduled time and additional lesson time may not be available.
For example, if a 60-minute lesson begins at 3:00 p.m. and the student joins at 3:15 p.m., the lesson may still end at 4:00 p.m.
If a teacher is late, the Centre will make reasonable efforts to provide the full lesson time or an appropriate alternative.
2. Technical Problems
Students are responsible for having:
-
A reliable internet connection;
-
A suitable device;
-
A working microphone and camera where required;
-
Appropriate software or applications required for the lesson; and
-
A quiet environment suitable for learning.
If a technical problem on the student's side prevents the lesson from taking place, the lesson may be treated as a completed lesson, particularly where less than 24 hours' notice is provided.
If a technical problem is caused by the Centre or teacher and prevents the lesson from taking place, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the lesson or provide an appropriate alternative.
3. Trial Lessons
Where trial lessons are offered, they are intended to allow students to become familiar with the teacher, teaching approach, and learning experience.
Trial lessons are subject to the same cancellation and attendance requirements unless otherwise stated.
A trial lesson may not be transferred to another person unless approved by the Centre.
4. Lesson Packages and Credits
If the Centre offers lesson packages, credits, memberships, or subscriptions, the terms applicable to those purchases will be displayed at the time of purchase.
Unless otherwise stated:
-
Lesson credits are intended for use by the student who purchased them;
-
Credits cannot be transferred to another person without permission;
-
Credits may have an expiry period where clearly stated at the time of purchase; and
-
Promotional credits may be subject to additional restrictions.
5. Refund Policy
Refund eligibility depends on the type of service purchased and the circumstances of the request.
Where a refund is permitted, refunds will normally be issued to the original payment method.
Certain services, completed lessons, promotional purchases, or lesson packages may be non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection legislation.
6. Teacher-Student Conduct
We are committed to providing a respectful, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Students and teachers must treat one another with courtesy and respect.
The following behaviour is not permitted:
-
Harassment or bullying;
-
Threatening or abusive behaviour;
-
Discriminatory or hateful conduct;
-
Sexual harassment or inappropriate sexual behaviour;
-
Repeatedly disruptive behaviour;
-
Sharing inappropriate or offensive material; or
-
Any unlawful activity.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to our services where a student or teacher seriously or repeatedly violates these standards.
7. Communication Between Students and Teachers
Students and teachers may communicate regarding lessons through communication methods approved by the Centre.
The Centre may provide messaging or communication tools to facilitate lessons and scheduling.
Students and teachers should not use the Centre's services to engage in activities unrelated to the educational relationship, including unauthorized commercial solicitation.
8. Learning Materials and Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, teaching materials provided by the Centre or its teachers, including lesson plans, worksheets, videos, audio materials, exercises, documents, graphics, and other educational content, are owned by or licensed to the Centre or the applicable teacher.
Students may use these materials for their personal educational purposes.
Students may not reproduce, distribute, sell, publish, upload, or commercially use our materials without prior written permission.
9. Recording of Lessons
Lessons may not be recorded, reproduced, distributed, or publicly shared without the prior consent of all individuals participating in the lesson and any other consent required by applicable law.
If the Centre wishes to record a lesson for training, quality assurance, promotional, or educational purposes, appropriate notice and consent will be obtained where required.
